One of the more understated brands, we don’t often hear much about Altura. With a fantastic range of gear and a much more affordable price tag, we’re unsure why. The Nightvision range is a huge hit with most commuters and night time riders. The Nightvision Kinetic long sleeve jersey is one of the more unknown items from the range, so we took it out for a spin.

Safety, comfort and visibilty. It’s clear to see what the commuters love the Nightvision brand. With functionality coming first on the agenda, it’s great that Altura also give a nod to the sleek aesthetics found in the more expensive ranges.
The Nightvision Kinetic jersey is no different. Simple, warm and visible, it’s a great addition to any winter wardrobe. A great top layer, and a functional layer to go under any jackets, it became immediately obvious why this item is a great choice.

The Features:
Using Thermo technology, the Nightvision Kinetic is constructed with thermosuede fabrics to keep you warm right through the depths of winter. With the cold being one of the biggest factors stopping people riding, Altura have let this feature lead the design. With some water resistant treatment, the jersey will keep you temporarily dry should any showers pass over.
The front zip of the jersey has an autolock feature so it can be easily adjusted. This also offers extra ventilation should you want to half zip the jersey and lock it in place. Though other than this the venitlation on the Nightvision Kinetic is limited.

Three roomy rear pockets offer plenty of room should you want to carry any extra kit, food or spares. We’re happy to see Altura haven’t restricted the size of these. They fitted in everything we needed with ease.
There is a small audioport should you wish to wear headphones whilst out riding in the jersey. Along with this silicon grip detailing keeps the Nightvision Kinetic in place stopping it slipping around. This extra fitting is very functional especially when the jersey gets damp.
Aesthetics:
Altura have kept the aesthetic of the Nightvision Kinetic long sleeve jersey very simple. A two colour design is complimented by some reflective strips. Only available in Hi Vis Yellow, the aesthetics are solely designed around keeping you safe out on the roads.

With a strap line similar to be safe, be seen, the jersey does exactly what it says on the tin. Keeps you visible at night. The semi fitted nature of the jersey keeps it quite close – so if you often have to go up a size when things get tight, we’d suggest that with this jersey. Not the easiest to clean after a few afternoons out in the mud, the Nightvision Kinetic jersey does retain it’s visibility well as it ages.
Verdict:
With a cost of only £24.99, it’s hard to look past this jersey. Granted, it’s not the most stylish jersey out on the road. But one thing the Nightvision Kinetic does do, is keep you visible. Comfortable and durable, function is right at the forefront of the design and we really like that!
