You’ll have seen us playing around with the majority of the Kona 2018 range. We’ve tested trail bikes, MTB’s & cyclocross commuters. We have to say we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the full range and it hasn’t stopped yet. The new Big Dew urban bike has joined the mix up and it is a real treat. We loved Cannondale’s Bad Boy 1 urban bike when that was released, & the Kona Big Dew isn’t far behind.

Kona describe the bike as a  fun-loving commuter that isn’t afraid to get dirty on the weekends. With the confidence-inspiring Kona ride and big 700x50c tires, the Big Dew feels at home just about anywhere you can imagine, from the jaunt to the grocery store to the woodland adventure.

The Main Features:

  • Frame Material: Kona 6061 Aluminum Butted
  • Wheels: Double Wall alloy
  • Fork: Kona Project Two Aluminum Disc
  • Crankset: Shimano Acera
  • Drivetrain: Shimano Alivio/Acera 9spd
  • Cockpit: Kona Aluminum Riser bar, Kona Road stem, Kona Key Grip
  • Brakes: Shimano Alivio
  • Tires: Schwalbe Road Cruiser K-Guard 700x47c
  • Saddle: Kona Road

The 50mm tires offer the bike a lot of stability, while the 9 speed gears don’t take much maintenance. Granted it’s not as reliable as the Bad Boy 1’s internal hub & belt drive system. But it certainly takes a bashing. The bike will take most of the bumps & bruises city riding will through your way.
