Made for the ambitious cross country rider, there’s nothing that the Endura MTR mountain bike clothing range can’t accomplish. Starting at £20 with the MTR waterproof sock, the range has everything from shorts & jerseys, to trousers, pads & jackets. You won’t be left wanting with any of this kit. Although the kit has been designed with performance at the top of the menu, in true Endura style the aesthetics are sleek and appealing. We’re certain you’ll be able to find something to suit your taste.

Endura describe the MTR range as function driven, light and comfortable kit for the serious, fast XC trail rider. Multiple British XC Champion and three-time Olympian Oli Beckingsale was both the inspiration and the lead tester for MTR. Oli put prototypes, samples and final designs through their paces as Endura honed in and refined them, until they exceeded all expectations.

When it comes to testing the range, it’s clear that the XC racer has been involved. Only the essentials are included in the design of the jacket and there’s certainly no excess material. Close fitting to keep you moving well when you’re at full gas. Though the range isn’t necessarily for racers, it’s perfect for riders that will be spending long periods of time in the saddle.

The Gear:

The MTR bib shorts come with a slightly racier cut, more like something you’d see on the road scene. Though they have extra protection on the rear to stop you from getting soggy when the trails spray. These fit neatly under the baggy shorts, though these themselves also have a slim fit. Plenty of zipped pockets will keep your valuables safe while you rip up the trails.

The Endura MTR pullover waterproof jacket is the complete package. Lightweight, durable and sleek. It ticks all the boxes. Not the jacket for the very depths of winter, but one you can easily throw into a backpack and know it’s got you covered.

A Primaloft jacket comes full of insulation to keep you warm out on the trails, but it’s light enough to not hold you back. Though only windproof, the MTR shell jacket will take care of the other elements for you. Another sleek jacket to keep your maneuverability at a maximum, this waterproof will keep you dry when the weather really takes a turn.

Verdict:

The Endura MTR range has stood the test of time, first developed six years ago, it’s been a must have in the mountain biking wardrobe ever since. Not always the cheapest end of the market, but absolutely worth the investment.
